Quite but isolated neighborhood, cozy quaint bungalow with basement tenant Positive: Nicely furnished, clean, cozy Negative: There is a basement tenant that may have been mentioned but I wasn’t aware of. Not property managers fault but St John’s is nice little neighborhood but quite isolated. A car is necessary.

Meh Positive: What I appreciated: I was able to check in early. The place appeared clean and was well equipped, in a decent neighborhood, and offered a window ac unit in the living room, and the two bedrooms also had ac units. Beds were comfy. Negative: What Could Be Better: The lawn in front and back could use some TLC. There is no balcony as stated in the description. However, there is a nice front porch, but lots of cats, so fur on the rug and furniture outside. The back yard has seating on overgrown pavers, but the seats were filthy, and there was a propane tank, and someone left their clothing behind. Lots of bees and overgrown plants and vegetation. Kitchen: the stove doesn’t have an exhaust fan over it. There were some dirty plates on the shelf where clean dishes went. Lots of old food left behind in cabinets- for sanitary and safety reasons, all of that should be discarded after each guest. Another mirror somewhere other than the small bathroom one would be nice. The window screen in the bathroom needs cleaning. The window ac in smaller bedroom was covered by a very long window curtain, so in order to use the ac you had to have curtain open, offering no privacy and allowed for the heat and sun to enter. Blackout curtains or shades for bedrooms would be nice.

Everything about the place was awesome, and I’d definitely stay there again. Positive: It was 102 degrees when we were in Portland, but the air-conditioning kept us nice and cool. And the beds were super comfortable-we slept like babies. There was lots of hot water and the pressure was great in the claw-foot tub/shower, though it was tricky to get in and out of and could be difficult for someone older.

St John’s neighborhood

Great place. My son who lives in the area said “If this was on the coast I would rent the heck out of it!” We enjoyed the house and the area.

Good stay in Portland!

This is a great property to stay in if you want/need to be in NW Portland. Great walkability to things in St. John’s and easy access to downtown if you have a car or will get a ride. Simple-yet-nice property that has everything you need.
