Filthy. Shabby. Poorly maintained.

A list in no particular order of all the many ways this rental did not meet the mark—* Torn, stained, foul-smelling upholstery and rugs* Hairballs (human and animal!) covering the couch, in kitchen drawers, and on “clean” linens* Clothing moths, roaches, termites, and ants throughout * Greasy, food crusted pots and dishes* Stained and/or threadbare towels* Moldy washer gasket* Bed sizes not as advertised: one is a Double, not a Queen* Smaller room has no vent so it gets very coldDespite repeatedly contacting management re: the above concerns, they were slow to respond, offered inadequate remedies, and didn’t follow through. When they finally issued a refund, it was 250 short of what was agreed. This was only addressed after we involved VRBO’s Health and Safety team. From start to finish the whole experience was amateur hour with all the hallmarks of an immature company operating beyond their capacity. Despite touting their “people first approach” there is no pride in Descansa Property Management’s craft and no accountability to their customers. I’m mad that I wasted my money and they wasted my time. 0/10, would not recommend this or any other property managed by Descansa Property Management.

Great central location, property needs refreshing

We were there for a little over three months. You can't beat the location and neighborhood (Ladd's Addition), steps away from a large rose garden, beautiful older homes, walking distance to grocery stores, bakery, coffee shops, wonderful restaurants. You're between Division and Hawthorne (main thoroughfares) and there are many shops along both streets. Mere blocks away from a TriMet stop. If you have a car, you're very central to all of downtown. We had no issues parking on the street. With that said, the property could use some refreshing. Furniture a bit worn. Ceiling paint chipping in hallway. Gas stove does not have a ventilation hood and the digital temperature indicator does not work properly - we pointed this out to the maintenance crew. Wood floors have seen better days. Kitchen floor tiles cracked in places. Appliances all worked, however when we arrived the kitchen faucet needed fixing (and was eventually replaced), the dryer vent was completely clogged with lint and needed to be cleaned. Management was prompt fixing these issues but still a nuisance. The bathroom sink was slow to drain. The property is the bottom floor of a duplex, so just be aware there will be upstairs noise from time to time.

Great location to walk to restaurants and downtown

Had a great extended, 6 week stay in the Ladd Addition area at this cool little place. Walking distance to endless restaurants, grocery store, etc.. Felt very safe and didn't even really feel like I was in the heart of Portland. It really is an oasis in the city. Cute little house with a lot of history. Would recommend for anyone that wants to experience downtown Portland in a very relaxed homey environment. We had two adults and our adult son staying there. AC worked well, kitchen was functional. Wifi was good. No problems with neighbors. There is a little rose garden 30 yards from the front door. Outdoor area out in back was nice to go and sit in. Laundry facilities were in the basement, accessible only to us. There were residents above us, but they had a completely separate entrance and didn't affect us at all. Our entry was from the front door. Street parking only, and didn't have any problem parking our 3 cars. We were in transition between homes, so it was a nice place to stay and experience Portland. Manager was very responsive to text or email. I would stay here again.
